The four zones, quickly

Zone I — public, no MR personnel required. Zone II — interface where screening happens. Zone III — access strictly controlled by MR personnel (this is where the control room lives). Zone IV — the magnet room itself. The static field is ALWAYS on. Only screened patients and MR personnel enter, and only MR-Conditional devices go in. MR Unsafe items (steel O₂ tanks, standard wheelchairs, legacy pacemakers) stay out of Zone IV period.
